KUALA LUMPUR: Tenaga Nasional Bhd has signed an energy wheeling agreement for the sale, tran *** ission and purchase of electrical energy from Laos to Singapore through Thailand and Malaysia.

In a bourse filing, it said the agreement was for a minimum of 30MW up to 100MW using the exsiting interconnections facilities owned by all the countries involved.

The agreement is effective for a period of two years starting June 22, 2022.

"The role of TNB under the EWA is to tran *** it energy generated from Lao PDR to Singapore.

"TNB is under no obligation to top up any shortfall of energy tran *** itted from Laos by Electricite Du Laos (EDL).

"EDL will pay wheeling charges to TNB for the wheeling services," it said.
